Dancing on the Plaza
July 30 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
SNB collaborates with the Pioneer Center to present DANCING ON THE PLAZA –an exciting brand new Free summer concert for the Reno Community.
This summer marks Sierra Nevada Ballet’s twentieth year as part of Reno’s art scene. SNB’s first public performance was at Wingfield Park as part of the Artown Festival and SNB has continued to perform annually as part of Artown ever since.
Each year, SNB performs a brand new program of dance, music and song under the title of DANCING BY THE RIVER but this year SNB will present something extra special to celebrate 20 years!
This year SNB shall collaborate with Reno’s Pioneer Center for Performing Arts to present a FREE concert in front of the theater, DANCING ON THE PLAZA, on July 30, 2021, at 8:00 PM. This program will feature the professional SNB company performing new original works
( from classic to contemporary) by choreographers such as Ananda Bena-Weber, Oliver Adams, Alexander Biber, Barbara Land, Jennifer Boyle August, and Artistic Director, Rosine Bena. The program will also feature the fabulous singer/songwriter, Eric Henry Anderson; composer/musician, Zach Terran and the internationally acclaimed Tap Star, Sam Weber.
Audience members claim “ SNB’s show is always my favourite in the Artown Festival” and “I always look forward to seeing Sam Weber tap. He is the best!”
SNB’s Artown audience has grown considerably over the years as returning members invite friends to the event.
With the help, collaboration and generosity of the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and generous donors such as the E.L.Cord Foundation, the Marin Foundation, the Carol Franc Buck Foundation and the many donors and volunteers of Sierra Nevada Ballet, Dancing On The Plaza is offered FREE to the public as part of the Artown.
