ABOUT SIERRA NEVADA BALLET

Sierra Nevada Ballet (SNB) has been performing in northern Nevada since 2001. Currently, the organization is a company of 10 professional dancers, three apprentices, and five trainees with an artistic staff of three, an administrative staff of three and a production staff of five augmented by an academy for students age 3 through adult-beginning through professional headed by the Founding Artistic Director and professional teaching staff.

• Over 30 volunteers contribute more than 200 hours per year to assist Sierra Nevada Ballet in serving more than 10,000 residents and tourists annually including 4,000 school children.

• SNB receives funding for its educational outreach and public performances from a wide range of institutions and donors and is one of few organizations in the state to receive multiple direct funding grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.

• SNB offers a full season of performances from May through December in an 800-square mile service region extending from northeastern California to northwestern Nevada.

• The SNB Academy offers professional training in classical ballet utilizing the American Ballet Theater’s internationally recognized national training curriculum.
